Visit our Atherton Tableland World Heritage Wet Tropics Area

Explore - Experience - Enjoy

Yungaburra
Centre of the Universe and Gateway to the Atherton Tablelands

For local and international visitors the Atherton Tableland has so much to offer, experience, explore and enjoy. Our natural wonderland with unique flora and fauna includes waterfalls, crater lakes, rainforest with its curtain fig tree and spectacular country drives. Some of our wildlife are found nowhere else in the world.

In addition, our area is rich in heritage. For thousands of years the Aboriginal People have been caretakers managing  and looking after country and they still contribute. We at Yungaburra Tours acknowledge and respect these caretakers for preserving the land where today we live, work and play.

Yungaburra, previously known as Allumbah Pocket, is a heritage village. It played an important part in World War 2 when 100,000+ troops were camped on the Atherton Tableland. Pay a visit to Rocky Creek Memorial and the Afghanistan Avenue of Honour.

We are proud of the unique and magnificent part of the world we are privileged to live in. We never tire of its beauty and are delighted to share it with you.
